Monthly wrap up: My May in books and posts

Monthly wrap up_May.png

Hi friends,

It’s official! It’s finally here!! What am I talking about? SUMMER – or at least the calendar claims it to be. And to celebrate I just bought myself a brand spanking new sun lounger. Last year I spontaneously decided I wanted one in July, when it was scorching outside. And you know what happened? I was freaking wait listed!! So this year I thought I’d be clever and buy one, while the weather is still only half decent. I’m sure I’ll be proud of this plan, when I see people waiting in line in the stores when it’s BBQ weather. I know.. I know.. it’s not nice to be happy about others misfortune, but it’s allowed to be entertained by it, right?

This month I’ve stopped working with two authors because of how they treat their readers, but I’ve decided to make a separate post about this. As it seems all too common in the world of authors and reviewers.

WHAT AM I READING RIGHT NOW.JPG

01 - Unicorn Academy.jpg

Sooo right now I am reading this beauty!! Lately I feel like this author, and many others, are releasing way too many academy books. It’s like everywhere!!! But I only needed to read the first five pages of this, before I became completely hooked!!!! And just take a look at the cover… I suppose technically it’s not a unicorn as it has wings. But unicorn or pegasus, the cover is GORGEOUS!!

let's chat

How did the month of May treat you? Did anything exciting happen? Did you read anything new, interesting or just decent? Let’s chat in the comments!

  1. Sorry to hear that you are having author trouble, is one of them the overly enthusiastic and familiar one you mentioned a couple of weeks ago? It would be interesting to hear your views in a separate post because it’s such an interesting dynamic with author/bloggers!

      1. Oh yeuch. Nope. That’s just made me shudder a wee bit. I think they must have read a book and on how to make interpersonal connections but interpreted it wrong and now they’re just being incredibly overfamiliar which just leads to lots of uncomfyness!

      2. Good for you for messaging him though, that’s the exact thing to have done. It’s such a shame that the message clearly hasn’t sunk in though 😦 Sometimes people don’t ‘get it’ and he’s clearly just not getting it is he?! I think all you could do in the end is block him which I’m glad you’ve done.

  2. Ah good! While i’m sad it happened, im glad you went ahead and stopped working with thoses authors. Never let anyone treat you badly, specially not on/for our blogs !

Yes, finally summer !! Which means- Alex will be done school in few weeks and that’d be one less thing to juggle with, only our two jobs. Hopefully we can see each other more than once a week for a few months… (given we have a WHOLE WEEK together for sure in July 🥰)

    1. Thanks Kristina!! I love how you’re always so encouraging 💕 I don’t know what it is with some authors, but its starting to rub me the wrong way 🙄

Oh that’s great for you, I hope you get to spend more time together too. Are you doing anything special in that week in July then? Or just some chill time?
