I wasn’t technically tagged for this one but I saw it on Sara’s blog, and thought it looked like a lot of fun.
1. What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called?
I guess my nickname is technically Bibi. It’s what everyone calls me, and I like it better than my full name, so I usually request to go by Bibi.
2. How often do you doodle? What do your doodles look like?
I usually doodle when I’m on the phone, but other than that I don’t really doodle. I’m about the least artistic person, ever, so it’s nothing fancy. It’s usually like stick people, stars, hearts or random signs.
3. What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and turn? Try to get up and do something productive?
It’s not often that I can’t sleep! Give me 5 minutes as a passenger in any moving transportation, without something to do, and I am feeling sleepy. But on those rare occasions that I can’t sleep, what I do depends on the reason for me being awake. If it’s because I’m not tired yet, it doesn’t help to count sheep’s. So in those cases I usually either sleep, or get back up and watch TV. If it’s because I have too much on my mind, I usually try and force my mind to focus on something else. The latest is an image of me running in circles around our back alley. For some weird reason that helps.
4. Do people consider you to be talkative or quiet?
Hmm….. that’s a really good question and I think it depends a lot on the situation. But if I’m going to generalise I think I’m really talkative with people I know, and pretty quiet with new people.
5. What makes you cry?
Fun fact about me: when it comes to my life, hurt, abandonment and loss etc. I don’t really cry. I tend to just get mad or shut down. But show me a film where emotions are running high, and I’m reduced to a blubbering mess. Like when Bruce Willis says goodbye to Liv Tyler in Armageddon, I still tear up. I’ve seen that film over 20 times, and I still can’t stop it. Come to think of it, books can also make me cry.
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I get really annoyed and worked up about unfairness. The most awkward part of that is, it doesn’t matter whether it’s against me or for me, I don’t like it. My inner rebel can’t just sit idly by, and feels a strong need to point it out whether it’s appreciated or not. And to be honest, most of the time it’s not appreciated by anyone.
7. How many times a day do you look at yourself in the mirror?
I consider myself a pretty vain person in many ways, but I don’t go out of my way to find a shiny object so I can look at myself. When I get ready for something, even work, I do spend like 1.5 hours in front of my mirror. I like makeup and looking presentable. I also carry a pocket mirror in my handbag, so I can check my makeup throughout the day. But if I think about it over a period of 16 – 18 waking hours, I don’t think I glance more than 4-5 times.
8. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?
Um… I don’t really know. I think one of the strangest ones was that I thought my dad wouldn’t give me a twin brother. I went through a phase where I really wanted one, and looking back at it now I clearly didn’t completely understand the concept of twins. All I knew was I wanted one and my dad told me I couldn’t have one, that it was too late. I was actually upset with him for weeks about that!
9. What is the guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?
I don’t really think I have a guilty pleasure, but if I had to go with something I’d go with looking at designer clothes, accessories and outrageous expensive luxury houses. I love looking around the internet and look at all the shiny things I can’t by. Quite sad really!
10. Who performs the most random acts of kindness out of everyone you know?
My boyfriend. Whenever we go to Mc. Donalds or any of the takeaway places near it, he buys some food and a hot beverage for the homeless guy who hangs out there. When he notices stray cats in a particular neighbourhood, he’ll buy cat food for them and drive there to feed them. When we’re grocery shopping and he sees people struggling to reach the items on the top shelves, he takes the time to stop and help them out.
11. How often do you read the newspaper? Which sections?
I don’t read it that often. I am one of those people who don’t like to be confronted about all the horrors in the world. So I stick to reading the superficial and the fluffy. It makes me happy when I read about a dog that saved their owner, or a cat that found its way home.
12. Which animal scares you the most?
There can be do doubt about this one. The most evil hell creature: spiders!!!
I will literally flee a room if there’s a spider. I have been known to scream, cry and lock myself in another room – even barricading the door and stuff towels in any gaps so the spider can’t get in. On the rare instances where I’ve dealt with spiders myself, I hoover it up, then hoover up an entire roll of toilet paper and stuff the nuzzle. All this thanks to someone once telling me, the eight legged arachnid’s from hell can crawl back out. UGH!!!!!!!
13. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage with it?
Unfortunately, the truthful answer is: engage!
I wish I didn’t as I don’t really like conflicts. But my fiery personality usually ends up in the middle, even when I think I’m trying to avoid it.
14. What is the most recent compliment you’ve received?
When I got up today (the day I wrote this post) I wasn’t feeling too hot, but I put on my exercise clothes, went for my morning speed-walk. When I came back still with my morning hair, and sweating, my boyfriend looked at me and said: “even when you’re a mess you’re really beautiful”. Most recent and most awesome all in one go.
15. What question are you tired of hearing?
As an immigrant living in England I am sick and tired of being asked about Brexit. Friends and family keeps asking me if I’ve seen or heard the latest, what my thoughts are, what I think the future will bring. I am fed up with it. If I knew I would save all the damn politicians time and give them a look into my crystal ball, but that’s not the case.
16. What is the strangest thing you have eaten?
Alligator at an exotic restaurant. They also had zebra, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat that cute horse in PJ.
17. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends?
I do have quite a few acquaintances, but they’re just that. It’s fun to run into them and exchange pleasantries from time to time. However, what I really treasure is my few and close friends. I love them more than I can describe. I love that no matter if we go for a long time without speaking, when we catch up it feels like no time has passed at all.
18. Do you have a catchphrase?
I don’t think I do…
19. What’s your all-time favourite town or city? Why?
Bournemouth in England. When I took the leap and moved from Denmark to England, that’s where I lived. Everyone I met was so friendly and welcoming, which was such a big help with my move since I moved alone. The city is so beautiful, the beach is amazing and the people are so amazingly friendly. If you ever get the chance to go there, I can definitely recommend it.
20. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
I’d change it to my original name. Yes, funny story!
As some of you already know I’m adopted, and my birth name was Bibiana. My adopted parents decided to change it to Bibiane, which I do NOT like. So given the opportunity I’d change it back to Bibiana!
21. When was the last time you lied?
Approximately 5 minutes ago when I told my cat we were out of cat food, just because I couldn’t be arsed to move from my chair! And I regret NOTHING!!!
22. What’s something that amazes you?
Physicists, scientists and mathematicians. I struggle so hard with each of those subjects, even on a “for dummies” level. So to me it’s truly amazing that some people not only gets it, but are able to build on it.
23. Would you rather be the first person to explore a planet or be the inventor of a drug that cures a deadly disease?
Without doubt I’d prefer to be the inventor of a drug that can cure a deadly disease. However, with my answer to the previous question that’s pretty damn far fetched. So if I want to keep just the smallest grab on reality, I’ll strap on on astronaut suit and go explore a planet.
24. What is your favourite amateur activity?
Dancing! I love dancing.
25. What was your first thought when you got up this morning?
Like most mornings it’s “I need coffee”. I’m not functioning well until I’ve had my first cup. So unless there’s something I have to do that day, that’s usually my first thought.
26. What is your favourite song (at least at the moment)?
I’m really into Wisin y Yandel at the moment, and I just found this, my new favourite song!!
27. List someone you know and describe them in five words.
Harriet, my best and oldest friend is a amazing, sensitive, weird, funny and creative.
28. You can select one person from history and have them truthfully answer one question. Who would you select and what would the question be?
I have absolutely no idea… I’ll try and give it some more thought and see if I can come up with anyone.
29. Which celebrity or artist do you resemble the most?
About 6 years ago my Facebook account was disabled five times in 3 days, because they claimed I was using a picture of Michelle Rodriguez as profile picture. In the end I had to show them my passport in order for them to stop the nonsense.
The picture of me is the one they kept refusing. Personally I don’t see the resemblance at all!!!
30. What do you want me to know?
I LOVE this website and here’s my favourite:
So inappropriately funny, it still makes me laugh!!
As always there’s no pressure to do the tag if you don’t want to. And if you feel like it but haven’t been tagged, just do like me and tag yourself 😉
