Weekly update – week 11

Hi y’all!

Some time ago I decided it was time to spice up the design on my blog, but I had the hardest time finding someone who could help me. And to put it mildly, I’m a disaster with anything that even remotely represents drawing or designing things. So I did a lot of research and reached out to a designer, but turned out they were too busy. Time went by and I kind of gave up on the idea again, when out of the blue the designer got back in touch with me. And now we’re slowly but surely working on a re-vamp of my blog. I’m so excited by this, and I’ll start showing off stuff as soon as it’s ready.

Other than that I’ve been living in something that in my opinion resembles hell. Or at least close to my definition of it. Our boiler broke… as in beyond any kind of repair or restoration. And what does that then mean? No hot water and no heating. In other words; not what you want when it’s only 3 degrees at night – and you have a slight addiction to bubble bath’s. Even take away the luxury a shower isn’t even possible, unless you have a liking for the extremely cold ones. Which I do not! By now you must be thinking either “why not buy a new one” or “why not get in contact with your landlord”. Yep, two completely valid questions. As we’re not homeowners, but private tenants, we need our landlord to PICK UP THE PHONE before we can get any help from him. But the rumour on the street (or rather from tenants of his other houses) is that he is on holiday. Somewhere warm. So right now I feel totally justified in hating him. At least a little bit. Wish me luck, hot water and heating soon.

Let’s take a look at the book reviews I’ve posted this week:

What am I reading?

The ever talented M.E. Parker  just sent me another romance to beta read, and I’m so excited to get into it. If you don’t know her, you can read my reviews of her previous books by clicking the author link. The previous ones were all steamy, HEA romance books – so I expect this one will be the same. This will be quite the difference from the books by Yumiyori I’ve binged, as they were (almost) all paranormal!

Lets chat

What have you read and done this previous week? Anything new and exciting happened? Let’s chat in the comments!

  1. I’m so sorry about your boiler! Our gas had to be shut off due to shoddy work from our HVAC replacement a few months ago, so we didn’t have hot water for a few days. I blew a gasket, making more than 20 phone calls until something was done!

  2. Oh no, sorry to hear about your boiler. That’s unacceptable at this time of year.
My landlord is a plumber, I wonder if I could send him your way? 😉
PS. Still unable to like & comment on your posts on WP Reader, I have to go to the actual blog post – not sure if it’s like this for other people.
