The blurb:

What happens after Vee and the Four Horsemen defeat Chaos? The series continues with new challenges, new enemies, and deeper connections between them all.

The Four Horsemen face Christmas and the holiday season is a bigger challenge than they expected. The parties are hell, the traditions confusing, and the angel they encounter isn’t the one Vee places on top of their Christmas tree.

With the portals closed, the world is safer and the group manage to persuade a reluctant Xander to take time off for Christmas. That might not be possible as the repercussions from their fight with Chaos and the angels reverberates through their new life.

Following a mysterious death at a Christmas party, the group discover a new type of creature is in town and killing people. They’ve no idea what it is or where the creature came from.  With the creature one step ahead of them, the five need to stop it before anybody else dies.

The events in Bright take place shortly after the end of Reckoning. The original series must be read first.

Vee and her harem of unruly pony boys are back and I couldn’t be happier about it! After their epic showdown against Chaos in Reckoning I’ve often pestered Lisa to find out what comes next. When she a few months announced there’d be a Halloween AND Christmas novella, I was over the moon. However, in my opinion the Halloween novella left a lot to be desired. For me it was just the same old, but with the added displeasure of seeing all the traits I didn’t like being highlighted. Ugh.

But… but… BUT then Bright hit my Kindle and I was hooked.
I loved getting reunited with these five characters, see what they’re up to now as well as peeking at their individual and group growth.

I know that the entire series only spanned over very few weeks, so with that in mind they (especially Vee) did go through a lot. To me it just always felt like she couldn’t keep up, and then at times ended up being a weird combination of a female super hero crossed with a bad attitude. Not the most attractive combination. Anyway in this Christmas novella we see a new site to her: calm. Amazing what it does to her personality when she doesn’t carry the fate of the world on her shoulders!

In Bright Vee almost treats Christmas like a pageant mum treats those horrible events: everything must work. Seriously, I almost expected a quote from Tim Gunn saying “make it work” – that’s how obsessed Vee is with making the perfect Christmas for all of them – though mostly for her, as the boys only play along to make her happy. But as with most things, they never go as planned and I do feel that Vee at times looses sight of what makes their little group almost perfect, along with what Christmas is all about.

The four pony boys shows once again that they’ll do almost any-and everything for their fifth, so much so that they put up with Christmas themed jumpers, Christmas decorating and maybe worst of all: the dreaded Christmas shopping. They even allow an angel to sit a top of their tree, albeit it has the top of the tree shoved up its arse, but hey who can blame them after what they’ve been through!?

Like that’s not enough cryptic messages show up, an Angel stalks Vee and Ewan in a store and Vee finally gets her own steed. With all the above in mind I cannot say how happy I was to see this new site to Vee, like she’s finally accepting not only her lot in life, but she also seems more accepting and understanding of each of her men. Especially Xander who tries his hardest not to declare War on Christmas.

Needless to say, that this Christmas themed novella opens the door for a completely new story line featuring the five, and I for one cannot wait to see what Lisa comes up with next for them.
