I was tagged for the Genre Book Tag by Lizbie for this fun tag. Its hardly a secret that I love to do tags & nominations, so thank you for the tag 💖
For once, there’s not really any rules, only some guidelines:
Ok so basically with the genre tag you answer the questions provided and tag a few people so look out for that at the end.
1. What is your favourite genre?
My favourite genre is romance 💖 I love how many sub-genres there’s to choose from, including a lot of different tropes.
2. Who is your favourite author from that genre?
Argh! There’s quite a few… but I think Madeline Miller will have to be one of them.
3. What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back?
Hmm… if its written properly, there’s no end to intrigue, angst, excitement, beings and wholesome characters. I love that all the different sub-genres offer a new set of rules, tropes and stereo types.
4. What is the book that started your love for that genre?
I’m having a hard time to remember which book that started my love for romance. I’ve read numerous books with a romance theme as a teenager, then more as I grew older. Its made even harder by the fact, that there’s not just one kind of romance I love. Paranormal, contemporary, historical, legends/myths…. I’ll take it all.
5. If you had to recommend at least 1 book from your favourite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start reading this genre, what book would you choose and why?
I’m not sure I feel comfortable with this level of responsibility, lol. I think it depends on so many things. Like what’s the age? What kind of romance? To some paranormal is a no go, to others “it’s the best”. But I think I would go with my own all time favourite.
6. Why do you read?
I’m going to copy Lizbie’s reply here, because it fits me too!
I read because it makes me happy. It let’s me escape from my life and makes me use my imagination. I read because I want to.
