What am I reading right now?
Friday night I finished BETA reading Queen Takes Checkmate, for Joely Sue Burkhart. The fifth book in her Their Vampire Queen series. And let me just tell you, this is one of the best books I’ve read in 2018. I don’t want to give anything away, but being part of Joely’s beta team is both exciting and a real honour. Seriously, the fangirl within is so excited by this!
This week I’ve also received 2 other books to ARC read (ironic for the week I decided not to accept anymore).
One from L.J. Swallow, who’s started a new fantasy reverse harem series. If you haven’t heard about it, it’s called Dragon Soul. If you want to see the full blurb and cover, you’ll have to join Lisa’s Facebook group as it’s all kept there for the time being. All I can say so far is, that if you like dragons, reverse harem and awesome female leads, this is something you should keep your eye out for.
The other one is from Benedict Patrick, From the Shadows of the Owl Queen’s Court. I haven’t read any of the previous books, yet. But I was told that this one can be read as a standalone and I’m really looking forward to starting it.
Some weeks ago I requested The Silence of the Girls written by Pat Barker. Once the book was released I received an email from the publishing agent, offering to send me a free and signed physical copy of the book, if I reviewed it on Amazon.
Needless to say, I rushed onto Amazon.co.uk to leave my review and low and behold, I was one of the first 25 people to do it. So a few days later, this came in the post:
So far I’ve only written the smallest of mini reviews. But I will try and get a full length review posted to on my blog, during September.
So now that you’ve heard about my week, I’d love hearing about yours! Have you experienced something exciting or new? Read anything good? Or maybe tried cooking a new recipe? I’d love to hear how your week went, so let’s chat in the comments!
