Hi y’all!
This month I’ve been so busy and disorganized, that I’m literally reading this on the last summer day of 2018. This kind of makes me sad, because I love summer. I love tanning. I love reading outside. I love those cool drinks, both alcoholic and the virgin style. But alas, its headed towards the dark mornings. Rain. Chill in the air. Higher electric and gas bills to warm up the house…. as you can see, I’m not dealing well with this seasonal change. And the worst part is, that it gets me each and every year!
Normally, at this time of the month (lol), I’ll show off all the books I’ve read along with the reviews. But thing is, that’s not really doable this month! Since I started working at the beginning of the month, I’ve pre-scheduled so many reviews, tags etc. to have enough material for the coming week. This also means, that sometimes it can be up to 1 week after I finish a book, until the review hits my blog. With that in mind, there’s books I could show you now, but where the review isn’t posted, and in some cases, not even done.
So, instead I’ll just gather all my book reviews for August:
- Deity (Covenant #3) | review
- Apollyon (Covenant #4) | review
- Sentinel (Covenant #5) | review
- Cadence (Ruby Riot #1) | Review
- Just in Time (The Time Witch Chronicles Book 1) | MINI ARC review
- Windcatcher (Stone War Chronicles #1) by A.J. Norfield | Review
- Elements of Magic (The Demon’s Covenant #2)
- The Pawn (Endgame #1) | review
- Stripped by Tarrah Anders | Mini review
On top of these, I’ve also read 4 other books where the review is still to come.
3 books I couldn’t really could get inspired to post long reviews about:
- The Vampire’s Reckoning
- A Holiday To Remember
- Percy Jackson and the Singer of Apollo (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #5.5) I must admit I was particularly disappointed in this one. Normally, I love Rick Riordan’s writing. Especially when Percy Jackson is part of it. However, either I’ve grown up (let’s hope not!) or, this was just kind of a money maker. Either way I wasn’t really entertained 😦
And some collections:
- Realms and Rebels: A Paranormal and Fantasy Reverse Harem Collection
- Between the Sheets: A Reverse Harem Anthology of Scenes that Get to the Point
I’ve never been good at writing reviews about collections. Mainly because, in all fairness I then feel like I should comment on each and every story. Otherwise, how to you do all the authors justice? What I can say is this: the books are awesome! If you’re a reverse harem fan, or even think of trying out the genre, then I cannot oversell these books.
In other exciting news!
As you know, I started working in the beginning of the month. While its stressful and a lot of hard work, I love every minute of every single day. On top of that, it comes with the added bonus of being paid. In other words: I can now indulge in book shopping again! YAY!
To make things even better, my friend have introduced me to this amazing hidden gem disguising as a second hand book store. Seriously, they have SO many orphan books. How could I not take pity and adopt as many as possible? Here’s some pictures of my all the books I found there:
Like that’s not enough, I was also lucky enough to win this beauty:
Competition winning & confession time!
And to get a #bookishwish granted:
I also received my first physical book for review:
Aaaand last, but definitely not least, my Amazon purchases:
This is the 3rd time I buy The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, so this time it better stay in my possession.
Seriously, I’m over the moon to be returning to my book hoarding. Though, I have no idea where to place them all. Yet.
So that was my month in purchases and reviews!
How was your month? Did you read anything good? Anything bad? Do you have book hoarding tendencies? How do you manage your social life, work and blogging? I’d love to hear from you, so let’s chat in the comments.

Yay for loving your job!! Also, GAME OF THRONES!!! ❤ haha. I will admit, I have a love-hate relationship with Geroge R.R. Martin. Books are amazing but come on and finish it! lol 😛

Haha I haven’t read the books yet. I saw the show first, and now decided to wait with the books till the tv show is done 👍😀

haha! I totally understand that. The books are good but the show is good too!! Plus, the show has far surpassed the books now. So, you might be in agony never finishing the books! lol

Hahaha yeah I’ve heard the show have strayed quite far. And yes, it’s amazing. Can’t wait till it’s back in April 🤩

I know! I was so sad that it took so long for the last season and we only get 6 episodes. Ahhhh 😬😬😬

But each is said to be 1.5 hours. Meh who am I kidding… I still want more! So let’s hear it, who’s bum do you want to sit on the iron throne? 😀

I’ve read so many conflicting things!! I heard that the directors said they wont be 1.5 hours long! I think someone is messing with us. haha. Honestly, Jon Snow! I have loved him since day one. Who doesn’t love a NOTHING to SOMETHING! lol. I’m not sure how I feel about the whole he and Danny thing. Especially, if they are related. Who do you want on the Iron Throne?!

Ahh yeah mr snow, the underdog of all underdogs 😂 I think I want either him or the mother of dragons, to sit there when it’s all over. Haha I wouldn’t be surprised if the producers, are planting false leads. Especially with all the leaks in last season.

Yeah, I’m trying to just stay away from it until it comes. I don’t want any spoilers and so on. Yes, I’ll be happy with either of those two. I really hope that we get a Jon and Arya reunion or I will flip out. The hug that Jon and Sansa got, they need way more!

Yesss! Not to mention the Clegane brawl. We definitely must have that. Like I need it! Oh god me too. Because you never know what’s just fan guessing, and what’s true. But I’m happy there’s at least a release day now. Though, I’m still unhappy it’s 2019 lol

I tell everyone that I would be happy with just that reunion and then I don’t care how it ends. haha!
Yes! I’m so glad that it is early and not late 2019. They were saying, when season 7 came out, it might be fall of 2019! That would have been the worst.

J don’t think I could have forgiven for them for that, if it had been late 2019! I’m already holding a grudge, when I see the authors do other projects in between. I’m like “get your arse back to GoT” 😂😂 especially when I saw Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington in perfume adverts, I was like “You get back to Winterfell” 😂

HAHAHA!!! Yes, I love this!! It’s like they don’t belong anywhere else, until it’s over. haha!! 😀 😛

Absolutely! I don’t want to see the Lord of winterfell well groomed in a suit. No way.

I love Sophie kinsella and hope you enjoy the books. The shopaholic series is one of. My favourites. I also enjoyed the Sylvia Day series a lot better then fifty shades. Looks like you have a lot of reading over the next few weeks, I’ll look forward to your reviews.

I read the Bared To You series a few years ago, and overall I did enjoy it more than 50. But I disliked Eva a lot more than I did Ana. Felt she was too manipulative and un-yielding. I haven’t read the shop aholic yet, but I’m so looking forward to them 🙂
