Weekly update & a psycho cat in our midst – week 29

Hi y’all.

I know I’m late with my weekly update, but let me just tell you, the last 24 hours have been a right nightmare! But let’s start by taking a look at my week, in blog posts.

Here’s the reviews I’ve done the last week:

Yesterday (well actually this morning) I just finished reading the fourth book in Jane Washington & Jaymin Eve’s series Curse of the Gods. Hopefully, I should be able to get the review finished for next week! And if you haven’t already, I’d recommend you check out this series. It’s fun, it’s different, it’s confusing and it’s pretty great!

As mentioned above, the last 24 hours have been the epic suck-fest at 2018! If you follow my blog and read my About Me page, you may already know, I have two amazing cats. Well, one amazing cat and one that’s downright psycho! our female cat, Marley, has been weird around shoes for some time now. Mainly, when my boyfriend is wearing his trainers inside, she was being weird. A few months ago she attacked his shoes, while he was wearing them. As in fat tail, all puffed up, hissing, growling, claws out. No mercy! She’s been doing that a few times. But it was usually alright if he took his shoes off.

A few days ago she was at the vet to get spade and after she came back home she, she’s been dead loving. Clinging to me. Wanting contact all the time. Until yesterday where she again went for my boyfriends shoes. I got her calmed down, and she was laid here in front of the PC cuddling into me all day. No issues. Then in the evening I got up, made a cuppa and turned around to get her some treats. Before I could fully turn she attacked my bare feet. Like I could lift my leg up and she was hanging on to me with claws and teeth. She hurt me pretty bad before I managed to get away. Had to bloody barricade myself in to one of our rooms, to keep her out. She managed to claw me quite bad under my left foot and right ankle, which took some time to stop the bleeding. My ankle is swollen and in the process of escaping the psycho cat, I ran into a table which bruised my right thigh – well done me! So now I’m bloody limping around. Not got any real idea as to what to do about her.

So I went online because Google is great in time of need and I found this

Feliway CLASSIC 30 Day Starter Kit

Feliway Classic is clinically proven to create an environment of security. The new Feliway Friends is a synthetic copy of the cat appeasing pheromone (CAP) naturally produced by a nursing mother to her kittens after birth.

Apparently, you plug this thing into a socket and bippity boppity boo, your cat should calm down. Wish me luck on this guys, because I don’t fancy living with a monster, but on the other hand, she’s MY baby ❤

That’s it from me this week, so let’s chat!

How’s your week been? Have you done or read something awesome?
Oh, and if you know anything about cat behaviour or something along those lines, please comment and let me know! Even if you’ve just heard something through a friends friend etc.

  1. Hi Bibi! I am so sorry about your week and weekend and your injuries too! I have always had cats, and I’ve not experienced anything quite like that? Did you ask the vet about her behavior? How is she with the other cat? How old is she? We have Feliway here, too, and it works great! You can also get a spray and put it on your boyfriend’s shoes. Hope you are feeling better soon! ♥️

    1. Oh and to your questions which I completely overlooked: she had her check up at the vet on Friday, where they said she’d been okay. I didn’t really ask about details, as she only went completely crazy yesterday. She’s absolutely fine with Diaz, she’s grooming him and cuddling with him. She’s 4 years old.

  3. I NEED ONE OF THOSE FELINE THINGS!! Ha ha! That’s too funny. My cat is possessed ocationally. You can literally see a physical change when he’s gone mental, like a werewolf shifting, and you know to get your feet out of the way, or get into a fighters stance because, IT’S ON!!

    1. LOL that does sound worse than ours… but yeah, quite upsetting really. Because now I’m being all funny around her. Thing is, there has been no warning. Just sudden attack of claws and teeth. Never thought I’d be afraid of anything at the size of 2,6kg. But she’s something else.

  4. Oh wow, what?! Usually spaying/neutering is said to calm them down .. which dont seem to be for her ;-; hopefully by now it should’ve had help!!

Beside that, I am impressed by how many reviews you posted that week, damn!! Mine only get like one per month ahaha ooops.

  5. The thing arrived yesterday evening, so hopefully we’ll be able to see a change soonish. And yes, having her spade haven’t helped at all. Thank you, it helps that I’m not working at the moment, from next week the reviews will probably slow down 😦

  6. Oh my goodness, a cat rampage? I’m so sorry your feet got hurt! Has she behaved this way ever before? Maybe you could consult a vet or other professional what’s going on? I mean, you clearly have a bond with her, but it’s so strange for her to suddenly attack you out of the blue like that…

    1. She attacked both me and my boyfriend yesterday, so we took her to the vet today. They couldn’t find anything wrong with her. So now we just have to hope the calling aroma set in soon, otherwise I really don’t know what to do. She’s attacked my bf a few times before, but not me until Saturday. And never ad vicious as she’s become now. It’s like one second she’s all purring, the next she’s hissing 😭

      1. Oh no, that’s terrible… 😭 I do hope it’s not some form of brain damage that’s messing with her mind or anything! Hopefully the aroma works soon; be sure to wear slippers or something in the meanwhile so you don’t get hurt any further!

      2. Haha, very smart 😉 And yeah, I knew cats were a bit temperamental, but I never thought they’d attack their owner if they had a cuddly bond with them like you do. Hmm, something to take note I guess.

      3. Oh absolutely. She does seem a little better now that we’ve spent £70 on all sorts of calming stuff. But the hardest thing will probably be to rebuild the trust. Never fully appreciated not having to worry about our cats attacking us 🤔
